Family & crew roles
Roles, avatars and managed profiles — who sees what in your harbor.
Every family member is part of the harbor crew. This guide explains roles, avatars and how visibility works — including profiles for kids.
Crew roles
- Captain — manages the family: invites members, edits family settings and handles the subscription when it launches. Usually the person who created the harbor.
- Crew members — see the shared calendar, tasks, shopping list and chat, and take over chores. They manage their own profile.
Roles decide what a member can view and manage. You can have more captains — for example both parents.
Avatars and mood states
Each member picks an avatar — 11 characters, each with 5 mood states. The avatar mood can reflect the family vibe of the day; it is playful, never a judgment.
Managed profiles for kids
Children get managed profiles:
- A parent creates and manages the profile settings.
- The child sees the shared plan and their own tasks in a kid-friendly flow.
- Parents guide what is visible — the design keeps it simple on purpose.
Inviting and removing members
- Invite: Settings → Family → Invite → share the link or code.
- Remove: captains can remove a member from Family settings. The removed member keeps their personal account.
- Leaving: any member can leave the family. Personal data stays with the account, and you can join another family later — one account can switch harbors.
Privacy note
Only your family members can see your shared harbor. See Privacy & your data for the full picture, or the FAQ for quick answers.
